DEVO SESSIONS
Devo Sessions, also known as Devonport Friday Night Sessions, started as a one-man operation and has grown into a state-wide community event series.
The idea behind the initiative was to transform some of the underlit skateparks in the state into bright, safe, and welcoming community hubs. Turning them into places to disconnect from the digital world, promote exercise, and encourage action sports—not only for adults but also for kids and families.
The small operation soon gained support from the State of Tasmania as well.
We organised night skatepark sessions across the North-West Coast of Tasmania, bringing together people from the entire state, from Hobart to Burnie.

The crew
The core group later spread the message, became ambassadors, and invited new members.
After securing a substantial $2K community grant, we had the opportunity to purchase helmets and organise one of our biggest events yet. Teaming up with the Central Coast Council and State Emergency Services, we attracted additional sponsors to support our cause.
